AILET Registration 2027: Eligibility

Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by NLU Delhi before filling out the AILET 2027 application form. Failing to meet these requirements can result in immediate rejection of the application or cancellation of admission even after clearing the exam. Check the AILET eligibility criteria in detail before you apply.

UG Eligibility

  • All candidates, except those applying under the Foreign Nationals category, must appear for AILET; admission is based solely on the AILET score.
  • To be eligible for the BA LLB (Hons.) program, applicants must have received at least 45% aggregate marks in their 10+2 examination. Candidates from the OBC category must have a minimum of 42% marks.
  • Candidates from the SC/ST**/ PwD** category must have a minimum of 40% marks in their Class 12.
  • Foreign Nationals need a minimum of 65% in their 10+2 examination and are exempted from taking AILET; admission is based on academic qualifications instead.
  • OCI/PIO candidates can apply either as an Indian National (must then appear for AILET) or under the OCI/PIO category (exempt from the test, merit based on qualifying exam marks) - these require two separate applications and can't be combined.
  • The AILET 2027 test has no upper age limit.
  • Applicants who are now enrolled in Class 12 can also apply. However, they will be required to present their marksheet at the time of admission; otherwise, the admission will be denied.

How to Fill AILET Application Form 2027

Follow the steps below carefully to complete your AILET 2027 registration without errors. Note that incomplete applications and unpaid fees will be rejected outright by NLU Delhi.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

Go to the official NLU Delhi admissions portal. Always use the official website to avoid fake forms or misleading application links.

Step 2: Register and Create Your Login

Click on 'Register or Apply Now' and create a new account by entering your Name, Email Address, and Date of Birth. After selecting "Confirm Registration," you will receive your User ID and password via SMS and email. Keep these credentials safe - you will need them at every subsequent stage.

Step 3: Log In and Select Your Course

Sign in using your registered email and password. Since AILET is conducted for both UG and PG levels, select the course you are applying for - BA LLB (Hons.), LLM, or Ph.D. - and click "Apply Now" to proceed.

Step 4: Fill in the Application Form

Complete all required fields in the application form carefully. Details you will need to enter include:

  • A. Religion
  • B. Category
  • C. Nationality
  • D. Examination centre (select up to 3 in order of preference)
  • E. Address for communication
  • F. Education details
  • G. Parents' / Guardians' details

Enter your name exactly as it appears on your Class 10 certificate. NLU Delhi will reject applications with name mismatches.

Step 5: Upload Documents

Upload your photograph, signature, and all other required documents as listed in the Documents section below. Ensure all files are within the specified size limits and in the accepted formats (.jpg/.jpeg) before uploading.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

The last step is paying the AILET 2027 application fee. Two modes are available:

  • Online mode: Pay via credit card, debit card, or net banking through the "Online Payment Gateway" option.
  • Offline mode: Select "Cash Deposit at Post Office," generate a challan, and pay the amount at the designated branch within 48 hours. Payment status will be updated in your account within 72 hours.

Once paid, the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Step 7: Review, Submit and Print

Before submitting, preview your entire application and verify all details. Submit only after confirming the fee payment status is visible in your account. Take a printout of the completed application form and payment receipt for your records.

Common Mistakes to Avoid During AILET Registration 2027

A small error during registration can cost you your seat later, even after clearing the exam. Watch out for these common slip-ups:

  • Name mismatch with Class 10 certificate. Always enter your name exactly as it appears on your Class 10 marksheet. Even a spelling difference or missing middle name can get your application flagged.
  • Uploading photos/signatures in the wrong format or size. NLU Delhi only accepts .jpg/.jpeg files within the specified size limits (1 MB for photo and signature). Non-compliant uploads are a common reason for rejected forms.
  • Picking exam centres carelessly. You get to choose up to 3 centres in order of preference, but once allotted, the centre usually cannot be changed. Pick locations you can realistically reach on exam day, not just your top-choice city.
  • Waiting until the last date to apply. Server load spikes close to the deadline, and payment gateways can fail or delay confirmation. Submit at least a few days early to avoid last-minute technical issues.
  • Not double-checking category and course selection before payment. Once the fee is paid, it's non-refundable, even if you selected the wrong category or programme by mistake. Review this carefully before hitting submit.
  • Applying through unofficial or third-party links. Only nationallawuniversitydelhi.in is authorized for AILET registration. Fake portals and paid "registration help" sites can compromise your data or lead to duplicate/invalid submissions.

Conclusion

AILET 2027 registration is now live, but NLU Delhi is strict about accuracy and deadlines; there's little room for correction once you submit. Read each field carefully, keep your documents ready in advance, and apply well before the last date. A few extra minutes of care at this stage can save you a lot of stress later in the admission process.
