AILET Exam Eligibility (UG)

The AILET 2027 UG eligibility criteria for admission to the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme are given below. Candidates must meet the educational qualification and minimum marks requirement specified by NLU Delhi.

AILET Education Qualifications

  • Candidates must have passed or be appearing in the Class 12 (10+2) examination from a recognised board or equivalent examination.
  • General category candidates must secure at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • OBC candidates must secure at least 42% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • SC/ST/PwD candidates must secure at least 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • Candidates applying under the Foreign Nationals category should have at least 65% marks in the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination.

Candidates who have finished and passed their class 12 examinations in the April/May 2026 session are also eligible to apply for the AILET 2027 exam.

AILET Age Limit

There is no upper age limit for appearing in AILET 2027 for the UG programme. Candidates can apply as long as they meet the required educational qualification and minimum marks criteria.

AILET Tie-Breaking Rule

In case two or more candidates score equal marks in AILET 2027, merit will be determined using the following criteria, in order:

  • Marks scored in the Logical Reasoning section of AILET 2027 will be considered first.
  • If the tie persists, the older candidate will be given preference.
  • If there is still no difference in merit, an automated draw of lots will be conducted.

AILET Exam Eligibility (PG)

The AILET 2027 PG eligibility criteria for admission to the LL.M. (One-Year) programme are given below. Candidates must satisfy the required academic qualification and minimum marks prescribed by NLU Delhi.

AILET Education Qualifications (PG)

  • Candidates must possess an LL.B. degree or an equivalent legal degree with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized institute.
  • SC/ST/Person with Disability candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 45% in their LL.B. or equivalent degree.
  • Candidates belonging to the Foreign Nationals category must have an LL.B. or equivalent degree recognised by the UGC or the Association of Indian Universities with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. Additionally, they will be assessed on written and spoken English communication skills and performance at an interview in terms of aptitude and capacity.

Candidates who are currently enrolled in/awaiting the results of their LL.B. degree program may also apply and take the Entrance Test. However, such applicants' eligibility must be achieved before the cutoff date, which will be published together with the Notification of Entrance Test Result.

AILET Age Limit (PG)

There is no upper age limit for appearing in AILET 2027 for the LL.M. programme. Candidates can apply as long as they satisfy the required academic eligibility criteria.

Who Can Apply for AILET 2027?

Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the qualifying examination can apply for AILET 2027, provided they meet the minimum marks criteria prescribed for their category. For UG admissions, candidates must meet the Class 12 eligibility requirements, while for PG admissions, candidates must satisfy the LL.B. degree requirements. There is no upper age limit for either programme.


AILET 2027 Exam Form

Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria can proceed to fill out the AILET 2027 application form. The application window for AILET 2027 is expected to open in August 2026; the exact date will be announced with the official notification.

Candidates must ensure that the application fee is paid successfully; those who fail to complete fee payment will not be permitted to enter the exam venue. The AILET 2027 admit card will be issued only to candidates who have submitted a complete application form along with the requisite fee.
