Exams Accepted by NLU Delhi - All India Law Entrance Test

NLU Delhi conducts the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) - the sole entrance exam accepted for admission to its B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LLM, and other programmes. Unlike most NLUs, NLU Delhi does not accept CLAT scores. AILET 2027 notification has been released; the exam is scheduled for December 13, 2026.

NLU Delhi - Fees and Eligibility

Given below are the fees and eligibility for each course offered.

B.A.L.L.B. (H)

• The candidate must have passed, or be appearing for, the 10+2 board-level examination from a recognised board, with a minimum of 45% aggregate for General candidates, 42% for OBC (non-creamy layer), and 40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
• The fee for B.A.L.L.B. (Hons.) is INR 1.56 lacs per year (for Indian nationals), as confirmed in the AILET 2027 notification.
• The course duration is 5 years.

L.L.M.

• The candidate must have passed a bachelor's degree in law (LLB) or equivalent, with a minimum of 50% marks for General candidates and 45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Final-year LLB students can also apply.
• The fee for L.L.M. is INR 1.56 lacs per year (for Indian nationals).
• The course duration is 1 year.

Ph.D.

• For law specialization, the candidate must have earned a master's degree from a recognized university with at least 55% overall.
• The fee for a Ph.D. is approximately INR 50,000 per year.
• The course duration is 3 years (minimum).

PG Diploma

• The candidate must have a bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree in the appropriate specialization. NLU Delhi offers three PG Diploma programmes: PGDUEML, PGDTEL, and PGDELP, all in the field of environmental and urban law.
• The fee for the PG Diploma generally ranges between INR 13,000 and INR 16,000.
• The course duration is 1 year.
