“Wrong decision or delayed decision, which one is the worst?”

Law aspirants are in this dilemma. We are here to decode the delays in the CLAT 2026 notification that go back to the delay in the CLAT UG 2025 Result.

It really gets confusing, trying to figure out everything on your own. Here is a systematic and chronological breakdown of the events leading to the delay in the CLAT 2026 Notification.

What really is the matter with the CLAT 2026 Notification?

The delay is CLAT 2026 notification invariably draws from the delay in result formulation of the last session, i.e, exam year 2025.

The CLAT UG 2025 was included in controversy because post exam, the students flagged multiple discrepancies, particularly in the Logical Reasoning and Legal Aptitude section.

The students kept their trust in the Consortium, but the Consortium failed to acknowledge and make the required changes. This resulted in students filing multiple petitions. Delhi High Court confirmed errors in at least two questions and directed the Consortium to revise the results.

Further, the case was taken to the Supreme Court, where additional errors were found. Concerns were raised at the responsible authority. The Consortium was ordered to republish a corrected merit list within hours, on May 7, 2025.

Almost two months down the line, while results came as a full surprise, nobody predicted that the shock waves would travel until the CLAT 2026 session too.
