SLAT 2027 eligibility criteria have stayed consistent across recent SLAT cycles, and the SLAT 2027 notification confirms the same criteria:
For SLAT-based programmes:
SIU has opened registration for SLAT 2027, with the window confirmed to close on 4 December 2026. The application process is entirely online, completed in a few structured steps.
Before you begin the registration process, keep the following documents ready:
Keeping these documents ready in advance helps avoid last-minute issues such as incorrect file uploads, missing certificates, or delays in submitting the application.
As per the SLAT 2027 notification, the application fees are:
|
Component |
Expected Fee |
|
SLAT Test Fee (per test attempt) |
INR 2,550 (plus applicable taxes) |
|
Per Programme Fee (per SLS applied to) |
INR 1,000 (plus applicable taxes) |
The fee is paid online during registration (UPI, net banking, or card) and is non-refundable and non-transferable once submitted, so double-check your programme choices and personal details before you pay. Candidates applying to multiple Symbiosis Law Schools must pay the per-programme fee separately for each institute.
Registration has started now; here's the process to follow:
A useful point to note: SLAT allows candidates to appear for the test on both available dates: 19 and 26 December 2026, and the higher of the two scores is considered for the final merit list, so there's no need to choose only one attempt at the time of registration.
The SLAT 2027 exam will be conducted as a computer-based test with 60 objective questions across five sections. The test will be of 60 minutes, with each question carrying one mark. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Candidates can appear for up to two SLAT tests. If a candidate takes both tests, the higher score will be considered for the final percentile calculation. There is no normalization between the two attempts.
Taking both attempts can give candidates another opportunity to improve their performance, especially if they want to improve their score or gain more exam-day experience.
SLAT scores are accepted by four Symbiosis Law Schools across India. Candidates can apply to the programmes offered by these institutes through the SLAT registration process.
