About SLAT 2023

SLAT is the entrance test conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) to admit students in the law program offered by the university at their institutes situated in 7 different cities across India. It is mandatory to appear for SLAT (Symbiosis Law Admission Test) as a precondition for admission to Symbiosis Law Schools.

Note: the candidate can appear for both the dates, but the higher score will be considered.

SLAT Eligibility criteria

The program eligibility varies in different cities, however, the student is eligible for the overall intake if they have: 

  • passed XII (10+2) examination from any recognized Board 
  • Have 45-50% aggregate marks (General category)
  • Have 40-45% aggregate marks (SC/ST/reserved categories)

SLAT Registration process

  • Candidates can register for SLAT 2023 by visiting the official website i.e. set-test.org. The last date has already been announced, hence, register as soon as possible to get preferred dates and test centers. Given below are the steps to fill out the registration form: 
  • Enter your name, mobile number, email id, category, and city preferred test city.
  • Upload your scanned documents including passport-sized photos and original ID → should not be less than 3 months old. 
  • Pick your preferred center and date, allocation will be subject to availability. 

Note: No changes shall be permitted after the registration under any circumstances. If any candidate’s application form includes information that is not true, the application shall be canceled.

Note: It is advisable that the candidates fill in all the required details correctly since there won’t be a separate window to correct the mistakes in the application form.

Documents needed for Registration

Following documents should be kept ready for the SLAT 2023 registration process:

  • Original and scanned copy of class 12th Marksheet
  • Original and scanned copy of class 10th Marksheet
  • Recent passport size colour photograph (both original and scanned)
  • Scanned copy of the signature

SLAT 2023 Admit Card

The admit card for SLAT 2023 will be issued by test conducting body. The admit card will only be issued to the candidates who have completed their registration and application process. The admit cards will be available for download on the official website set-test.org in the last 10 days of April 2023. The admit card is a critical document to have on the day of the examination.

SLAT 2023 Test Pattern and Syllabus

A few things to note about the SLAT test pattern are given below: 

  • SLAT 2023 will be conducted online mode. 
  • Test duration: 120 minutes
  • Total questions: 90 questions
  • There is no negative marking and 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer. 
  • There are five sections in the test paper: Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, General Knowledge, and Reading Comprehension. 

SLAT 2023 Section-wise Syllabus and weightage

Given below is the section-wise syllabus for SLAT 2023. 

  1. Logical Reasoning: Number Tests, Series Tests, Coding and Decoding, Odd One Out, Statement Arguments, Verbal Reasoning, Analogy, Statement Assumptions, Ranking, Questions n Relations, and Syllogisms. 
  2. Legal Reasoning: This section will test the candidate's interest in the study of law, research aptitude, and problem-solving ability. Questions may include legal propositions (described in the paper), and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied.
  3. Analytical Reasoning: Questions on Permutation and Combination, Blood Relations, Mixtures, Ratio and Proportion, Series, Number System, Time and Work, Mensuration, Clocks, and Calendar, Profit- Loss and Discount, Coding-Decoding, Number Series, Probability, etc.
  4. Reading Comprehension: The unseen passages will be tailed by questions related to the passage. The English section is meant to test the language skill of the candidates, hence, passage-based.
  5. General Knowledge: This section will assess your knowledge of recent happenings and awareness of the world, specifically the last year.

A list of shortlisted candidates who are eligible for the PI-WAT process will be released on the declaration of SLAT result

SLAT 2023 Selection process

On declaration of the SLAT result SLS, will publish the list of shortlisted candidates who are eligible for the PI-WAT process. This process will be conducted by the respective law schools.

PI-WAT (Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test):

  1. PI (Personal Interaction) – 30 Marks

Personal interaction of shortlisted candidates will be conducted by a panel of experts from Industry / Academic.

  1. WAT (Writing Ability Test) – 20 Marks
