NLU Delhi conducts AILET or All India Law Entrance Test, which offers applicants admission to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) LLM law courses, Ph.D. programs, PG Diploma, etc. The test is taken offline, and negative marking is used.

  • AILET is held once a year, usually in December. It is attended by 15,000+ law students and that number is ever-growing, soon to reach 20,000+.
  • AILET 2025 is scheduled to be held in the second week of December 2024, while CLAT 2025 is scheduled for the first week of December 2024. Both of these exams are very significant as CLAT offers candidates a pathway to the top NLUs in India, while AILET is the gateway to NLU Delhi.
Latest Updates @ AILET 2025
  • The official announcement for AILET 2025 will happen in May 2024. The application form for registration will be available from August 2024 onwards.
  • The exam timing has been changed from AILET 2024. Instead of the usual 90 minutes, candidates will have 120 minutes to complete the exam. AILET 2025 is expected to follow the same pattern.

AILET 2025: Marking Scheme and Sections

AILET B.A.LL.B (Hons.) course will consist of three parts of 150 multiple-choice questions totaling 150 marks. The examination will last 120 minutes.

AILET 2025 will have three sections, namely

  • Section A: English Language, consisting of 50 questions for a total of 50 marks.
  • Section B: Current Affairs & General Knowledge, consisting of 30 questions for a total of 30 marks.
  • Section C: Logical Reasoning, consisting of 70 questions for a total of 70 marks.

Negative Marking: Each question in AILET carries 1 mark, 0.25 points will be deducted for each incorrect answer. As a result, four incorrect responses will result in a 1-mark reduction.

Selection Criteria: If two or more students receive the same score, then their merit will be determined by the better score in the Logical Reasoning component. If the merit remains the same, the older applicant will be given precedence. If there is still no change in merit, the automated draw of lots will be considered.

AILET 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

AILET  is open to all applicants who have passed the 10+2 or an equivalent examination. The minimum marks required for each category are as follows:

  • Minimum of 45% marks in class 12th for General/ Other Backward Class (OBC)/ Specially abled person categories.
  • Minimum of 40% marks class 12th for Scheduled Class (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories.

Note: Candidates who have passed their qualifying examinations(10+2 or equivalent examination) can also apply and take AILET. However, such applicants' eligibility must be achieved before the cut-off date, which will be published together with the Notification of Entrance Test Result, and if such candidate is put in a compartment during the year of admission, they will be considered ineligible.

Age Limit

AILET doesn’t have an age limit. As long as you meet the eligibility you can give the exam.

AILET 2025: Application Process

The application form for AILET 2025 will start in August 2024 (likely in the first or second week). Once out, candidates can fill out the form by following the steps below. 

The steps to apply are given below.

  • Step 2: Then click on the 'Register' tab.
  • Step 3: Candidates will be sent to the AILET registration form, where they must input basic information such as their name, email address, contact number, and other data.
  • Step 4: After you've filled out all of the fields, click the submit button.
  • Step 5: Upon successful registration, applicants will receive their registration number and password.

After that candidates can log in with their registered mobile number and password and proceed to fill out the AILET exam 2025 form.

AILET 2025: Syllabus

NLU Delhi has issued the syllabus for AILET, which covers the three subjects, as given below.

  • English Language
  • Current Affairs & General Knowledge
  • Logical Reasoning

In AILET 2025, 150 multiple-choice questions will be asked. These questions will be based on passages of understanding. 

While each question is worth one mark and 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect response. AILET exam question papers have become longer in recent years, making it impossible for candidates to complete the test within 90 minutes. This is why this year the total time given to complete the paper is 120 minutes, a 30-minute increase from previous years. 

English Language

The English component of the exam will consist of 50 questions. The questions are intended to assess your grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension abilities. As a result, solving the previous year's question papers for the AILET exam every week can help you understand the sort of questions offered and the difficulty level. Also, learning grammatical principles can assist you with error detection problems.

The key to this section is to read about current events, either online or in the newspaper. The section isn’t primarily difficult but can be tricky to deal with, as incorrect responses can easily rack up and affect your final result.

AILET 2025: Exam Centers

AILET 2025: Admit Card

Candidates who register, submit the application form, and pay the fees will be able to download their AILET 2025 admit card 15 days before the exam date. The admit card is a required document for taking the test. It comprises information such as the roll number and exam center. 

Steps to Download AILET Admit Card 2025

Once the admit card is out, candidates can download their AILET 2025 admit card by following the steps outlined below.

  • Step 1: Navigate to the NLUD official website.
  • Step 2: Click on the candidate login tab.
  • Step 3: Enter your registration ID and password to log in.
  • Step 4: Click on the AILET 2025 admit card download link on the candidate site.
  • Step 5: The AILET 2025 admit card will show on the screen.
  • Step 6: Examine all of the information on the admit card carefully.

Step 7: Download and print the AILET admit card for future reference.

How to check the AILET 2025 result?

The AILET 2025 results will be announced somewhere in the third week of December 2024 by the National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi). The AILET BA LLB and AILET LLM results will be released simultaneously on the university's official website, nationallawuniversitydelhi.in

Candidates can also get their scorecards by entering into their registered account. The AILET scorecard 2025 will include information such as the candidates' marks, all-India rank, category, and so on. Provisionally qualified candidates will be invited to the counseling, which will begin shortly after the results are announced.
