CLAT Eligibility Criteria

Any candidate who has completed the 10+2 or equivalent examination is eligible to apply for the CLAT 2025 exam. There is also no age limit to take the exam, nor is there any restriction on how many times you can attempt CLAT.

Tie-break Rules

In case two students have the same CLAT score after taking the test, there will be a tie-breaker round that uses the following condition:

  • Candidates with higher grades in the legal reasoning section will be ranked higher in the selection process.
  • Following a second tie, the older candidate will be given preference over the other.
  • A computerized drawing of lots will determine how the candidates will be ranked if a tie cannot be broken in the first round

CLAT 2025: Admit Card

The consortium of NLUs will provide the CLAT Admit Card at least 15 days before the exam date, which is projected to be in the last week of November 2024. Once available, the CLAT admit card may be obtained from the official website.

Steps to download CLAT Admit Card 2025
  • Step 1: Go to the exam's official website, https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in
  • Step 2: Select CLAT 2025 (not available yet) and log in by providing your registered mobile number and password.
  • Step 3: Once logged in, on the top right of the screen, click the Download Admit Card link.
  • Step 4: Save the admission card PDF file to your device.
  • Step 5: Print at least two-to-three copies of the admission card on A4 paper for future reference.

There is no upper age limit for CLAT.

Common Law Admission Test(CLAT) is a national-level entrance exam for admissions into the top law schools in the country. There are 24 participating National Law Universities and various other law colleges in the country accepting this examination.

Begin by reviewing the question papers from the previous year. It will give you an idea about the exam pattern and CLAT syllabus.

There is no fixed cut-off for CLAT, as it changes according to factors such as the level of difficulty and the number of exam takers. For CLAT 2024, the cut-off was around 100, while the cut-off for CLAT 2023 was around 80.

The ideal time required to prepare all the concepts needed to secure a top rank in CLAT depends upon the candidate's preparation level and comfort in comprehension and aptitude. However, an aspirant starting from scratch for this shall ideally devote two (2) years to this exam.

To be eligible for the CLAT , one must have at least 45% overall in Class 12 exams or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board or institution. However, the minimum required percentage for candidates in the SC/ST category is 40%.

CLAT is a pen-and-paper based test, i.e, an offline exam.

Consortium of NLUs conduct CLAT exam. The consortium of NLUs consist of 24 NLUs.
