Frequently Asked Questions

CLAT dates have shifted from May to December of every year, in accordance with the announcement made by the Consortium of NLUs. CLAT2023 will be held on December 18, 2022.

CLAT is being conducted in offline mode since 2021.

The one-time application fee which is non-refundable for CLAT2023 is:

  • INR 4,000 for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates.
  • INR 3,500 for SC/ST/BPL candidates.

There is no upper age limit prescribed for CLAT2023.

To be eligible to appear for CLAT 2023, candidates should have passed 10+2 (or its equivalent examination) with:

  • 45% marks (or an equivalent grade) for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates.
  • 40% marks (or an equivalent grade) for SC/ST categories.

Candidates appearing in their qualifying examination in March/April are eligible to appear for CLAT2023. However, they are required to submit the passing certificate of the qualifying examination on completion. In case of the certificate isn’t produced, the candidate will not be eligible for admission to the course.

Yes. There are other Law Schools/Universities that accept CLAT scores for admissions.
