CLAT 2026 Exam Highlights
- The paper opened with GK, as the sections were jumbled this year.
- English stayed close to its usual pattern, with RC-based questions dominating.
- Legal Reasoning passages increased from 5 to 6, leaning heavily on constitutional debates and recent Supreme Court judgments.
- Logical Reasoning was the toughest section, with the Sunburst Theft and Olympiad Team puzzles standing out.
- Quantitative Techniques had only two DI sets, but Set 1 was extremely time-consuming.
Section-Wise CLAT 2026 Analysis
The English section was easy to moderate, with 5 RCs based on historical, philosophical, and literature-based extracts, making it fairly predictable and manageable.
- Passages covered History, Pre-history, Literature, and Governance, including one from Tagore's Hungry Stones.
- Questions were mostly direct, with a few inference-based items.
- Vocabulary was simple, and most answers could be derived directly from the text.
The GK section was easy to moderate, staying current affairs-focused rather than static, with most questions drawn from high-visibility news events of the past 8-12 months.
- International relations, national events, sports and policy-based questions dominated the section.
- Major topics included the SCO Summit, the Indus Water Treaty, US Tariffs, and Air India.
- A strong focus was visible on India's global diplomacy, defence relations and major government initiatives.
Legal Reasoning was easy to moderate, though the number of passages increased from 5 to 6, making the section slightly lengthier.
- Passages were almost entirely rooted in constitutional debates, recent Supreme Court judgments, and ongoing legal matters such as same-sex marriage and state-government disputes.
- Important cases included Manoj Narula and TN vs the Governor.
- Prior legal awareness clearly helped in increasing speed and accuracy.
Logical Reasoning was the toughest section of CLAT 2026, rated moderate to high in difficulty.
