We have curated a list of CLAT preparation tips by our top mentors on “How to prepare for CLAT 2025”. Try to emulate the 8 tips mentioned as follows and you’d feel the impact of these on your preparation.
If you can spend 500 hours on self-preparation in the next 120-125 days, you will be in a perfect place and have a good chance of cracking CLAT 2025.
Take out 3-4 hours and divide the time according to your strengths and weaknesses.
As we suggest to every student who joins us, the first step should be to test yourself by taking the CLAT 2025 mock. Take it very seriously as if the CLAT were to happen right now, where would you stand?
Analyze the mock. Decipher what needs to be done and analyze your subject-wise strengths and weaknesses in the exam.
We generally break the entire paper into two parts.
The reading section primarily accounts for two-thirds of the total test and has 80 questions. Those 80 questions are purely skill-based, so you have to develop a skill for that.
TIP: Read 8 to 10 articles every day–good high-quality articles, newspapers, magazines, maybe a few blogs.
Students are intimidated by the number of sections in the exam.
But if you dig deeper, the difference between English, Logical, and Legal is that in the Legal section—you get passages only from one genre; i.e., law.
Whereas, in English and Logic, you can expect contemporary philosophy, literature, and anything to come.
As far as GK is concerned, there is no closure to it.
In fact, most of the GK that will come in CLAT 2025 probably has not yet happened; it will probably occur between July and November.
I suggest giving GK at least two hours of extra time in the next couple of months.
TIP: Pick one or at max two resources that are comprehensive. Manthan, for one, is exhaustive in nature.
Remember, just because some topper has said that I studied from a specific source doesn't mean that you'd have to collect all the resources. It will waste your time, as there's hardly anything extra that one can provide for GK.
Quantitative Techniques is one section that will define the NLU for you. The goal is not to get into any national law university–it is to get into the very best.
Focusing on every section in CLAT 2025 is a necessary condition and not a sufficient one.
There is no syllabus 'as such' for CLAT 2025, so there is no point in waiting before you can write mocks. Write two mocks almost every week, and write not more than two mocks in the last three months.
While analyzing the mock, do not just map your percentage score in a mock, but also map it with the time you're taking to solve that section.
In the mocks, you need to commit a bare minimum of time for all the sections.
You cannot borrow time from one section and give it to the other, so you cannot get an inflated score in just one section; your overall score will drop.
So, both need to be mapped accordingly and then you can take a call about where you stand.
