MH-CET Law Exam Analysis 2025 Highlights

MH-CET Law (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law) is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell of Maharashtra. It is an annual state-level admission exam used to determine admission to 3-year and 5-year LL.B. degree programs.

As per Slot 1 & Slot 2 of the paper, the general perception on the overall difficulty level of the exam was categorized as Easy to Moderate, making it accessible to well-prepared candidates but also increasing competition(cutoffs).

Considering the relatively student-friendly nature of the paper, the cutoff scores are likely to remain on the higher side. This trend is expected to be even more pronounced for OMS (Outside Maharashtra State) candidates, given the heightened competition and limited seats.

MH-CET Law 2025 Section-Wise Detailed Analysis

The 32 questions in the section aim to assess a candidate's interest in law, legal acumen, and problem-solving abilities. Legal prepositions and a collection of facts will be used to form questions. Candidates must answer the questions assuming the integrity of the premises and drawing well-supported inferences.

Slot 2 Analysis:

Out of the 32 questions, at least 20 were easy, 10 were of moderate difficulty, and 2 were on the tougher side. Overall, the section was on the easier side only.

Slot 1 Analysis:

In the General Knowledge section, topics from Polity, Modern History, and Maharashtra-specific current affairs once again formed the core, as has been the trend in previous editions. A strong grasp of Maharashtra's local and political history definitely proved advantageous.

Slot 2 Analysis:

It was a mixed pack of questions in the slot 2 GK section. 10-12 questions were on the easier side, 8-6 questions were of moderate difficulty level, and the rest, 5-6 questions, were difficult, which students might not have been able to attempt.

These 32 questions in the section are designed to assess the candidate's ability to recognize patterns and logical relationships and correct illogical arguments. It will consist of broad comparisons, argument completion, deriving well-supported conclusions, reasoning by analogy, and applying principles or norms.

Slot 2 Analysis:

This section had a mixed response from students. The questions were comprised of topics like Calendars, Venn Diagrams, Directions, Distance, Time & Work, Number Series, & more. The magnitude of Analytical Reasoning questions was greater in comparison to critical reasoning.

Out of the 32 questions, 16-18 were easy, 10 were moderate, and 3-4 questions were difficult.

Slot 2 Analysis:

The English section was fairly easy. The 24 questions of the section will include questions on idioms, active-passive forms, vocabulary (synonyms, antonyms, analogies, etc.), tenses, and 2 RC passages. 16 questions were of easy difficulty level, 5-6 were of moderate level, and only 2-3 questions were difficult.

Slot 1 Analysis:
The Mathematics section featured questions of an elementary level, focusing on basic concepts rather than complex problem-solving. Candidates with a clear understanding of fundamentals would have been able to navigate this section comfortably.

Slot 2 Analysis:

The Quants section was extremely easy. Most students attempted the entire section, i.e, 8 questions with a probable 90% accuracy, and it did not take students much time to complete the section as well.
