About ILS

Indian Law College was founded on 20th June 1924, when the University of Bombay gave its sanction for a college of Law in Pune. The motto of the college is that "Law is the foundation of the whole universe. People follow him who respects the Law. By Law are all transgressions cured. In fact, everything is centred in Law. Hence Law is considered to be supreme."ILS offers an enormous range of student clubs and societies, particularly the Mooting, Debate and Drama societies, besides the sports, trekking and the extracurricular clubs. The Library at ILS is rated one amongst the best in India, with over 59073 books and bound volumes of periodicals along with national and international, journals and magazines.

For B.A. LL.B

  • Admission to the program is on the basis of merit list determined through Common Entrance Test (MH CET)

For LL.B

  • Admission to the program is on the basis of merit list determined through Common Entrance Test (MH CET)

ILS Eligibility

For B.A. LL.B

  • An applicant who have successfully completed Senior Secondary School course ('+2') or equivalent such as (11+1, 'A' level in Senior School Leaving Certificate Course) from a recognized University of India or outside or from Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Union or by a State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the Government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the Course Examination, with minimum of 45% Marks in aggregate. (SC and ST Category candidates belonging to the State of Maharashtra with valid Caste Certificate from State of Maharashtra with minimum 40% Marks in aggregate)
  • Candidates having passed SSC (X Std.) or equivalent Examination following regular mode/pattern and having Completed +2 - Higher Secondary Pass Certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission in the integrated 5 Yrs. Course with minimum of 45% Marks in aggregate. (Candidates belonging to SC and ST Category belonging to the State of Maharashtra and valid caste certificate from the state of Maharashtra with minimum 40% Marks in aggregate) are eligible for admission

For LL.B

  • Candidates need to have a sequential educational qualification (10+2+3) in order to be eligible for the program
  • The Candidate will be held eligible, if doesn't have prescribed minimum percentage of marks (45%) in aggregate at U.G. Degree examination, but has obtained prescribed Minimum Aggregate percentage at the P.G. degree examination provided, he/she have prosecuted the study pattern in the 10+2+3 OR 10+2+3+2/3 format.
  • The applicant who has passed the qualifying examination (U.G. or P.G. degree) in a single sitting Examination without having basic qualifications of (10+2+3) is not eligible for admission to 3 year LL.B course since 10+2 is the essential qualification for Law Admissions

For LL.M

  • B.A.LL.B. (Five-Year law-degree Course): with minimum 40% for SC / ST candidates, and 45% in all other cases,

  • OR
  • LL.B. (Three-Year law-degree Course): with minimum 40% for SC / ST candidates, and 45% all other cases

For D.L.L & L.W.

  • Graduate of any faculty of any university whose degree is recognized to be equivalent to the corresponding degrees of Pune University
  • For D.T.L

    • Eligibility for admission requires the candidate to be a graduate of any faculty of any University whose degree is recognized to be equivalent to the corresponding degrees of Pune University

    For Autonomous Courses

    ILS offers the following autonomous Certificate/ Diploma Courses:

    • Diploma in Corporate Laws
    • Diploma in Medical Jurisprudence & Forensic Science
    • Diploma in Human Rights & Law
    • Diploma in Competition Laws
    • Diploma in Media, Law and Civil Society
    • Diploma course in Corporate International Taxation
    • Certificate Course on Goods & Service Tax
    • The Eligibility criteria for the diploma courses is any graduate/ BSL, BA LLB/LLB onwards.
    • The certificate course is open for all.

    For Diploma Courses of IALS

    • Graduate of any recognized University in any discipline
    • Diploma in any discipline or any equivalent diploma from a recognized Institution
