Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab (RGNUL) was established in 2006 under the Punjab Act of the State Legislature of Punjab. The government of Punjab recognised it as a centre of excellence in legal education in the modern era of globalisation and liberalisation.
RGNUL follows a semester system with a strong emphasis on participatory and research-based learning. The curriculum integrates classroom teaching with practical legal training through internships, moot courts, seminars, and project work. Students are encouraged to develop professional skills from the very first year, with mandatory internships across courts, law firms, corporate legal departments, NGOs, and government bodies throughout the programme.
