National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) is a government National Law University located in Guwahati, Assam, and the first NLU established in the North-Eastern Region of India. Established under the National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009, it is recognised by the UGC and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The Hon'ble Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court serves as its Chancellor.

Admission to the B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Five-Year Integrated Course at NLU Assam shall be exclusively based on the performance of the candidate in CLAT UG. NLU Assam strictly follows the admission criteria laid down by the CLAT Consortium. Candidates must fulfil all CLAT eligibility conditions as prescribed by the Consortium of NLUs.
Note: Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply provisionally through CLAT, subject to fulfilling eligibility conditions at the time of admission/counselling.
The total sanctioned intake for B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) at NLU Assam is 120 seats (two sections of 60 each), along with supernumerary seats across various categories.

NLU Assam is a residential university and the fee structure covers tuition, examinations, campus facilities, hostel, and mess charges. The university also collects one-time refundable deposits for library, hostel, and mess, out of which Rs. 10,000/- is retained as Alumni Fee upon course completion.

Admission to both the B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) and the One-Year LL.M. programmes at NLU Assam is done through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) conducted by the Consortium of NLUs. NLU Assam strictly follows the admission criteria laid down by the CLAT Consortium.
Note: NLU Assam reserves a dedicated set of seats for candidates from Assam (Assam General, SC of Assam, ST of Assam, OBC/MOBC of Assam, EWS Assam). Eligible candidates must produce valid domicile and category certificates from the competent authority at the time of admission.
