Note: Fee Structure does not include Mess Fees. There shall be an annual increase of 5% in the Fees in every Academic Session. Fee is accepted through SBI Epay only. NRI/SAARC Fee is fixed with no annual increase applicable.

HPNLU Shimla - Eligibility Criteria

B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) & B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)

For admission to the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) program, candidates must have at least 50% aggregate marks in Class 12 (45% for SC/ST candidates).

Additional Condition: Candidate must have appeared and qualified in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) conducted by the CLAT Consortium.

LL.M.

For admission to the LL.M. program, candidates must have completed an LL.B. degree or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks.

Additional Condition: Candidate must have appeared and qualified in the Common Law Admission Test - PG (CLAT-PG) conducted by the CLAT Consortium.

HPNLU Shimla - Admission Process

The entrance test for UG/PG programmes is the Common Law Entrance Test (CLAT) conducted by the CLAT Consortium. Selection for UG/PG programmes is based on merit/score of CLAT, and for Ph.D. in Law it is based on merit/score of UGC-NET.

Step-by-Step Admission Process

Step 1 - Appear in CLAT / CLAT-PG / UGC-NET Candidates must register and appear in the relevant entrance examination:

• UG (B.A. LL.B. / B.B.A. LL.B.): CLAT (UG) - conducted by the CLAT Consortium at consortiumofnlus.ac.in
• PG (LL.M.): CLAT (PG) - conducted by the CLAT Consortium
• Ph.D.: UGC-NET - conducted by the University Grants Commission

Step 2 - CLAT Counselling After CLAT results are declared, the CLAT Consortium conducts centralized online counselling. Candidates must register for counselling, fill in their preference list, and participate in seat allotment rounds.

Step 3 - Seat Allotment Seats at HPNLU are allotted based on CLAT/CLAT-PG merit, category, and the candidate's preference.

Step 4 - Reporting & Document Verification Candidates whose seats are allotted must report to HPNLU within the stipulated date and time for document verification. The University reserves the right to cancel admission if the candidate fails to submit the required documents or certificates by the specified date/time.

Step 5 - Fee Payment After successful document verification, candidates must pay the prescribed fee to confirm their admission.

The following documents are required to be submitted at the time of reporting / document verification:

• Class 10 (Matriculation) Mark Sheet & Certificate (for date of birth proof)
• Class 12 (10+2) Mark Sheet & Passing Certificate
• LL.B. / LL.M. Degree / Provisional Degree Certificate (for PG / Ph.D. admissions)
• CLAT / CLAT-PG / UGC-NET Score Card / Rank Letter
• CLAT Seat Allotment Letter (issued by the CLAT Consortium)
• Category / Caste Certificate (SC / ST / OBC — Non-Creamy Layer), if applicable
• EWS Certificate, if applicable
• Physically Disabled (PwD) Certificate, if applicable
• Domicile / Residence Certificate of Himachal Pradesh (for Home State quota candidates)
• Migration / Transfer Certificate from the last institution attended
• Character Certificate from the last institution attended
