Initially, the name was National Law University which was changed in 2014 to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Law University in honor of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar. The university will start academic operations in the academic year 2019-2020. The institute aims to provide more than just legal education by imparting a value-based, intellectual environment to help the students excel in both academics and personality wise as well. Some of the main objectives of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Rai, Sonipat, include advanced studies, promoting research, comprehensive legal education, organizing seminars, analyzing contemporary public issues, higher learning and research globally, promoting legal awareness, etc.

Admission Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates are required to have a Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) of the Haryana School Education Board or its equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks in the aggregate.
  • For SC/ST candidates, the minimum aggregate is 40%.
  • Candidates appearing in or awaiting results of the qualifying examination held or being held in March/April 2019 are eligible to apply for admissions and appear for the Combined Law Admission Test (CLAT) provisionally.
  • However, candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria when the results are declared and must submit proof of having passed the qualifying examination with the prescribed percentage of marks at the time of their interview/counseling.
  • Candidates failing to provide proof or clear the qualifying examination during the given frame are not considered.
