CLAT 2026 Detailed Exam-Analysis

The overall CLAT 2026 paper can be categorised as easy to moderate, with sections appearing in a jumbled order and GK placed first. English remained on expected lines with Reading Comprehension as the primary focus and no major structural changes. Legal Reasoning had a noticeable tilt towards prominent legal current affairs, similar to the sample paper pattern released earlier. Logical Reasoning included more Analytical Reasoning-based questions, while GK carried no significant surprises and mostly covered highlighted and anticipated topics. Quantitative Techniques was easy to moderate, with straightforward data sets that may ultimately act as the differentiator for top ranks.

Student Reactions to CLAT 2026

The initial feedback from students after the CLAT 2026 examination has been quite mixed. Many aspirants described the overall paper as moderate but unexpectedly tricky, especially because some sections demanded deeper analytical thinking and careful reading rather than direct concept-based answers.

A large number of test-takers mentioned that time management became a major challenge, as several passages in Logical and English were lengthier than expected. Students also pointed out that some question types were different from the mock pattern, which confused the attempt.

While several candidates felt confident about General Knowledge and Legal Reasoning, they simultaneously expressed concern about Quantitative Techniques and Logical Reasoning, calling them comparatively tougher and more time-consuming than anticipated. According to many students, these sections could become decisive factors for cut-offs this year.

Quite a few candidates admitted feeling anxious about their score, especially those who performed better in mocks but found the actual exam more difficult. At the same time, some students felt satisfied because certain sections were more than expected, which gave them hope of clearing the cut-offs comfortably.

Overall, the sentiment among students can be described as mixed, slightly stressful, but realistic, with many now waiting eagerly for the official answer key to estimate their marks and compare them with expected cut-offs.
