The Law Department at the University in Swansea is a thriving Department which is committed, together with the University, to excellence in teaching and research. The Department promotes excellence through a close community of committed academic staff and students where teaching goes hand-in-hand with academic scholarship. Within a very short period of time, the Department has achieved a reputation for its research activities and is a major recipient of external research grants in, for example, Family Law and Commercial Law whilst the Institute of International Trade and Shipping Law has developed research contacts throughout the world. Our teaching has been highly praised at undergraduate and postgraduate levels by the UK Quality Assessment Agency, both in terms of its quality and also in terms of the excellent resources we have in the Department. The recently expanded accommodation now means that the Department has attractive, modern facilities dedicated to law students.The Law Department is committed to being at the forefront of legal education within the United Kingdom. We provide exciting research opportunities at MPhil and PhD levels.
