Admission

Admission to the BA LLB and BBA LLB courses is based on an All India Law Entrance Test . The test is out of 150 marks and will contain objective type questions covering General Awareness of Law, Ability of Reasoning, Logic and Aptitude, Social Sciences, General English and General Knowledge and Current Affairs. Successful candidates must then appear for an interview. Students must have passed their HSC exam (10+2) or its equivalent with at least 55% marks. There are 80 seats for the BA LLB course and 240 seats for the BBA LLB course. Of the above seats, 15% is reserved for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates, 15% for sponsored candidates, 2% for physically handicapped and 5% for serving or retired defence personnel or their children. Aside from the above seats, 2 seats per course will be provided to Kashmiri migrants. The Fees for the course must be payed at the time of admission by demand draft drawn on a nationalised bank in favour of "The Principal, Symbiosis Society's Law College, Pune 4".

Course Structure

Symbiosis conducts two 5 year integrated law courses a BA LLB course covering arts subjects with law and the second is a BBA LLB course which covers management and business subjects with law.

College Infrastructure

Law College Library - The library contains a large collection of books, journals, periodicals, magazines, digests and reports. This collection is ever growing with frequent additions of books and journals providing students with access to the latest quality material.

Computer Lab - The computer lab at symbiosis was launched in July, 2003 and is well equipped with 30 computers with the latest configurations. Students are provided with printing and scanning facilities and have access to free internet facilities to aid them with their research. Specialised software like SCC online, Grand Jurix and Manupatra are also made available for students to use. It also forms a guide for courses like the Masters of Tax Management (MTM), for which the students should know the use of Tally Software.

Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC) - There is a health club where students can make use of the gymnasium or learn aerobics or yoga from trained personnel. The health care centre provides students with medical care and also provides each student with medical insurance. Each student is insured for Rs. 25,000/- under the Mediclaim Policy and for Rs.1,00,000/- under the Road Traffic Accident Policy. Further details are available at the Health Care centre. The SCHC also provides an inhouse, state of the art health club and fitness centre with a view to facilitate a holistic development of mind and body for all round development of the students.

Extra-Curriculars and Co-Curriculars

International Law Students Association (ILSA) - The Symbiosis chapter of the ILSA was launched in 2002. It aims at familiarising students with the legal system by involving them in the various law related activities it conducts on a regular basis.

Human Rights and Women's Rights Cell - Launched in 2002, the Human Rights and Women's Rights Cell aims at spreading awareness to the general public about human rights and violations of the same. Their work is a practical extension of that part of the curriculum dealing with human rights.

Moot Court Society - This society is headed by a Professor and aided by student co-ordinators. It is responsible for selecting and training students to participate in moot court competitions at both the state and national levels.

Dramatics Society - The Dramatics Society of Symbiosis Law College activelyconducts various dramatics workshops and meets throughout the year aiming to bring out the creative side of students. It is managed entirely by the students and works in co-ordination with the college faculty.

Career Opportunities

Placements - There is a Placement Core Group with both faculty and students as members. They conduct recruitments for the students. Symbiosis also conducts a placement program whereby students are prepared for the recruitment procedures and are trained in communication skills, public speaking, resume writing and other skills needed for the placement process.
