GNLU Gujarat was established in 2003 by the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003. The university has a vast library and collection of more than 35,000 volumes of books, and law reports and has a subscription to 150 current journals, newspapers, reference books, and e-books. It has huge resources in the field of law and other allied subjects such as Management, Sociology, Science & Technology, History, Economics, and English Literature. GNLU offers a platform for activities like mooting (which is done very strenously), article-writing, writing research papers, and presenting them at conferences and client-counseling. There is a Moot Court Committee, members of which are selected via an interview in which four students per batch are selected. It conducts two rounds of intra-University moot court competitions every semester. On the basis of the performance of the students in the second round and their preferences, they are sent to various national and international moot court competitions.
