About DSNLU

The University came into existence in the year 2008. It was first named Andhra Pradesh of University Law which was later changed to Damodram Sanjivyya National Law University in the year 2012. DSNLU is committed to design and deliver legal education, promote academic achievement and excellence in legal research. It endeavours to be a premier law school with state of the art facilities with emphasis on clinical aspects to promote and provide world class education, training, research consultancy and services. DSNLU comprises various student driven societies such as Society for Moot Court & Advocacy, Society for Literature & Debate, Society for Corporate & Business Affairs, Society for Sports & Cultural Activities etc. It also offers a Legal Aid Cell to impart responsibility, towards society and help create legal awareness, in the future lawyers. It has subscription to Online Journals such as Westlaw, Manupatra, Hein online, Indian Law etc.

Getting into DSNLU

DSNLU Results Accepted

For B.A.,LL.B (Hons)

  • Admission to this program is purely based on merit determined through a Common Law Admission test (CLAT) conducted by the 18 participating law schools in rotation

For LL.M

  • The admission shall be based on the performance in the Common Law Admission Test

For LL.B. LL.M

It's a one of a kind 4 year dual degree program offered by the university to cater to the need of competent young lawyers. It is a very flexible program, with an exit option after successful completion of LLB degree.

  • The admission to the same is through a Screening Test conducted by the University

DSNLU Eligibility

For B.A.,LL.B (Hons)

A candidate for admission to the B.A, LL.B (Hons.) Degree Course shall have:

  • passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) system or an examination equivalent thereto securing in the first attempt, not less than 50% (45% in the case of SC/ST candidates and persons with disability) in the aggregate
  • There is no age limit as per the 2017 rules

Those who do not clear the qualifying examination with the requisite marks are not eligible for admission.

For LL.M

  • As per the CLAT 2017 Common Rule

For LL.B. LL.M

  • Graduate in any disciple from a recognized university with a minimum 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of reserved categories i.e. SC/ST/Differently Abled Persons)

For Ph.D

  • Ph. D. is offered both as a full time and part time programme. 55% marks at the ML / LL. M. level is compulsary for the candidates seeking admission as full time scholars. A. P. University of Law encourages persons from all quarters like Bar / Bench & other officers / personnel concerned with law or other subjects and law to do research in law. This has been introduced to promote multi-disciplinary legal research.

For Diploma Courses

  • Post graduate Diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution
  • Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university is eligible to apply
