DSNLU B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) - Eligibility Criteria

Admission to the B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Five-Year Integrated programme at DSNLU is governed by the CLAT notification as regards eligibility criteria. DSNLU strictly follows the admission criteria laid down by the Consortium of NLUs. Candidates must fulfil all CLAT eligibility conditions as prescribed by the Consortium.

Note: Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply provisionally through CLAT, subject to fulfilling eligibility conditions at the time of admission and counselling.

DSNLU LL.M. Specialisations

DSNLU offers a one-year LL.M. programme through CLAT PG. As per the official CLAT 2026 DSNLU brochure, the university offers the LL.M. programme in the following specialisations:

• Corporate and Commercial Law
• Constitutional Law and Administrative Law
• Criminal Law and Security Law

DSNLU Seat Intake (2026-27)

As per the official CLAT 2026 DSNLU brochure, the seat intake at Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU), Visakhapatnam is as follows:

• B.A. LL.B. (Hons.): 120 seats + 12 extra seats (Total: 132 seats)
• LL.M.: 60 seats + 6 extra seats (Total: 66 seats)

The university has also stated that the extra seats are available under the EWS category, as per applicable government norms.

DSNLU: Fee Structure (2026-27)

DSNLU is a fully residential university. The fee structure below is as per the official Admissions Guidelines for AY 2026-27. Mess fee is to be paid separately at the time of joining.

Note: The above fee is payable to DSNLU after adjusting the CLAT Counselling Registration Fee (INR 30,000 for General / INR 20,000 for BC/SC/ST/PWD) and CLAT Confirmation Fee (INR 20,000). Candidates who have not paid the Confirmation Fee to the CLAT office must pay the same along with DSNLU's fee. Fee structure is subject to revision as per university notification.

DSNLU: Admission Process

Admission to B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M. at DSNLU is done through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) conducted by the Consortium of NLUs. DSNLU strictly follows the admission criteria and counselling schedule laid down by the CLAT Consortium.

How to Get Admission in DSNLU Through CLAT:

• Register for CLAT UG (or CLAT PG for LL.M.) on the official Consortium of NLUs portal at consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
• Appear for the CLAT examination on the scheduled date.
• After result declaration, participate in the CLAT centralised counselling process.
• Fill in your NLU preferences and select DSNLU, Visakhapatnam at the appropriate preference rank.
• Seats are allotted based on CLAT rank, category, and seat availability.
• Once allotted, complete the counselling process online - mail scanned copies of required documents to admissions@dsnlu.ac.in.
• Pay the university fee via NEFT/RTGS to the designated Union Bank account as per the official payment schedule and mail the bank payment details to admissions@dsnlu.ac.in and dsnluvsp@dsnlu.ac.in.

Note: DSNLU reserves seats for candidates from Andhra Pradesh under domicile/residence categories. Eligible candidates must produce valid domicile and category certificates from the competent authority at the time of admission.
