AILET 2024 Exam Pattern

The AILET 2024 for B.A.LL.B (Hons.) program will have three (3) sections of 150 multiple choice questions for 150 marks in total. The duration of the examination is 120 minutes.

The three sections are:

  • Section A: English Language (50 questions; 50 marks).
  • Section B: Current Affairs & General Knowledge (30 questions; 30 marks).
  • Section C: Logical Reasoning (70 questions; 70 marks).

Legal principles may be used in the logical reasoning section to test logical aptitude but the examination will not require any kind of legal knowledge or technical understanding.

Marking Scheme and Selection criteria

  • Negative marking: There will be a Negative Marking in AILET 2024. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 which means 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to a deduction of 1 Mark.
  • Selection criteria: If two or more candidates get the same marks at the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), their merit will be determined on the basis of higher marks in the section Logical Reasoning. If the merit is still the same, then the candidate senior in age shall get preference. If still there is no change in merit, then the computerized draw of lots shall be taken into consideration.

AILET 2024: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are primarily based on two factors:

  • Eligibility Criteria: Any candidate who has completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate is eligible to apply for the Exam.
  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to apply for the Exam. However, candidates appearing for their Class 12th examination in March/ April 2024 are eligible. Such candidates need to give evidence of passing their Class 12th exam at the time of admission. Candidates who fail to fulfill this will lose their right to admission through the exam.

Candidates should visit the official website of NLU Delhi i.e. nludelhi.ac.in./ to register. The candidate should create a login account by providing some basic information.

  • To complete the application process, candidates need to fill out the form with details like religion, category, nationality, Exam Centre, Address, Education Qualification, etc.
  • Step 4 - Upload Images
  • Upload the scanned image of your photograph and signature.
  • Step 5 - Payment

Payment of the Application Fee, which can be paid in both online and offline mode.

AILET 2024: Seat Intake

B.A. LL.B Seats: 110+10

(110 seats on AILET merit)

(5 seats each for Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO for direct admission on merit).

Supernumerary Seats: One seat for Kashmiri Migrants and Two seats for Residents of Jammu & Kashmir.

AILET 2024: Result

NLU Delhi will be declaring the results in online mode on the official website of the institute. Post result declaration the qualified candidates will be called for counseling. The counseling process will only be conducted in offline mode at NLU Delhi. No admissions will be held once the spot round counseling has been conducted.

AILET 2024 Cut off

The AILET cut off will indicate the minimum score (or last rank) for which admission is offered for each category. NLU Delhi will release the category-wise cutoff for various programs offered by the university at the time of counseling and seat allotment.
